Mid-Autumn Festival Lantern Parade 2010


The Mid-Autumn Festival is an auspicious traditional occasion for the Chinese community. In celebration of this festival, Downtown East presents you a Lantern Parade filled with colours and excitement and many other happenings lined up for this special evening!

This year’s celebration will be hosted by Y.E.S. 93.3FM DJ Xie Jiafa. Key highlights for the event include Chinese Whip Act, Wushu Demostration, Song Segment by a Kid Singer, Lantern Quizzes, Stage Games and Dragon Dance. The evening will then come to a grand closure with the Lantern Parade being led by the Dragon Dance Troupe.

Free lanterns and Green Tea will be given out to the first 150 NTUC Members based on a first-come-first-serve basis.

So hurry down and join this Mid-Autumn Celebration!

Batman: The Brave and The Bold Meet & Greet Session


Look forward to this September School Holidays with glee as we will be having a week full of non-stop action and adventure with characters from Batman: The Brave & The Bold, an American animated series. Expect to meet the greatest super heroes of DC Universe - Batman, Blue Beetle, Green Arrow and Aquaman. So make your way down to the Event Square and have your pictures taken with these heroic characters!

Setting of Singapore Book of Records by NTUC Club and Gunong Sayang Association

Come share the excitement as NTUC Club sets the Singapore Book of Records with Gunong Sayang Association for Largest Ronggeng Dance, a type of Javanese and Malay social dance! More than 300 participants will be displaying their graceful dance moves. Don’t miss the opportunity to witness this record-setting feat and lend your moral support to these participants!

Wet & Live
WWW will be opened from 7pm to 10pm for visitors to experience WWW at night. Themed “Wet & Live”, visitors can relax in the Jacuzzi and have fun in the Tsunami (Wave Pool), while enjoying different genres of music like Top 40s hits, Pop, alternative rock and Reggae with a special ‘Live’ band. There will also be a barbeque food stall selling a variety of grilled items, hot snacks and drinks. For visitors who love WWW, this is definitely an experience not to be missed and for those who do not like to be out in the sun, this will be a great opportunity to chill out in WWW.

Calling all aspiring singers to join the most anticipated inter-union singing competition, U Fame Awards!

Back for its 4th season, U Fame Awards 10/11 is the contest that will unveil new faces for our very own pool of talents! Like the previous three seasons, the fourth installment serves as a platform and an opportunity for singing talents to shine!

If you think you possess the voice, the personality, the style and the flair for singing, come represent your union and participate in this contest!

Imagine stepping into da Vinci's "The Last Supper" or Michelangelo's "The Sistine Chapel Ceiling Fresco" or having Mona Lisa wave and greet you and answer all your questions... Now you can at the Alive Gallery! This is the place where fantasy becomes a reality

The Alive Gallery is the only exhibition in the world where visitors can encounter moving and talking characters from the world's most cherished artwork. Using the latest information technology, great artist such as Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Claude Monet and Jean Millet will interact with visitors and tell the inside stories of their works. Visitors will also get to see the real-life reproduction of Van Gogh's "Cafe Terrace at Night"
